The Original Design: How To Build a Healthy Strong Family

A healthy family is also a strong family. The core of society is family and in this blog you will learn more about the beauty of God”s Original Design.

Hi! My name is Jan-Roux, but you can call me Jan. I’m a strength coach with a passion for Jesus Christ, what He did on the cross for us, and His Original Design (Family). The purpose of my work is to direct others back to His Holy Word and restore the family to it’s former glory by teaching men and women who they are in God’s eyes and what He expects of us as parents. We are all called to lead our children with God’s wisdom and teach them values they may embody to be conduits of blessing in this world.

Building a healthy family for future generations to thrive without a lack mentality is God’s desire for us. It’s the cornerstone of a healthy society. One that empowers each other to prosper in unity, but too many people have conformed to the norm of this world as they live in fear trying to protect what is theirs. Many go to church only to pray for the blessings, and when times get tough they no longer show up. Have we forgotten what it means to be conduits of God’s blessing in this world? This selfish trait of humanity didn’t just affect society, it has defiled the entire family tree.

My message can come across as offensive at times, but it will make you think, seek, and find the truth. My intention has never been to offend anyone or judge anything, nor is it the purpose of what I will be sharing with you. Each and every one of us knows the truth through the Spirit of Jesus Christ that was poured out for us. Therefore we can discern.

That is all you need to know for now. If you like what you see and it sounds like good news to you, then continue reading. Jesus never came to condemn the world. We condemned ourselves by living faithless lives that cause pain for ourselves and others. Jesus Christ came to open our eyes that we may see and turn back to God’s Original Design.

Read the content with intent and allow God’s love to speak to you through it. In the next few weeks, I will challenge you to shift a few paradigms that might be leading you down a slippery slope of destruction. The Spirit of the LORD is upon me because the Holy Spirit has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and to open the prison for those who are bound. May my words inspire you to seek God’s heart for you.

The Word says, “When He comes, He will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.” – John 16:8

“You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” – Jesus

As it is written, “No greater love has any man than to lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13

The truth is this world can influence us on a much deeper level than what we might be aware of. Did you know your choices, beliefs, and emotions can all trigger genes to express in a negative way, which then increases your risk for non-communicable diseases (NCD’s) like cancer, diabetes, depression, and obesity. Epigenetics is the interaction between nature and man. Become aware of your own actions.

Keeping your family healthy and strong starts by keeping your own genes (DNA) healthy and strong. You will eventually pass your genes to your children, and if you have bad habits and a lack-mentality, then the chance is good that your kids will get affected. Transforming your own Mind, Body, and Spirit to unite with God’s Original Design is vital for the longevity of you, me, and our society.

Once leaders understand this, and act on it, then families can greatly reduce their risk for so many of these lifestyle-related disasters. Being ignorant of the truth is like walking around in darkness. At some point you are going to stumble and fall, and it will cost more than you might have bargained for. You cannot afford to be ignorant of the truth, or think it won’t happen to you. Hospitals are full. Prisons are full. It’s happening all around you.

Millions of people like you and me are suffering because they thought it would never happen to them. Ignorance is a choice we make to look away; ignore the truth. We all intuitively know the food we eat, the medicine we drink, and what we look at will affect us. If you know that eating one or two cookies will trigger you to eat more, then walk away and don’t be tempted to reach for the fruits of destruction.

Sin is not a one time event. It happens in phases, first you are tempted because you have a desire for something greater (lack mentality), and then you are presented with an opportunity to satisfy that desire. So you reach for it, and you taste it, and you eat it, it’s so good… like honey… you want more… and so you keep reaching, but what you’re not seeing is the fact that you are losing it.

You have fallen from grace, and your mistakes have caught up to you. The pain you experience now is all a result of your desire for more. But brother, sister, here’s the deal. We are all flawed, and we are all affected by the things of this world. We must mature and grow as we learn from our bad, and good, experiences. Forgive yourself, and move on, this is the only way we grow closer to God.

For those who are forgiven for much, will love much. I too have messed up, but God forgave me and He gave me yet another chance. I am like Adam, and you are like Eve, and that *** snake, the old reptile (the basal ganglia) that sits in the tree of knowledge of good and evil (the brain) has deceived us into thinking we lack something that is within us.

We wanted to be like God, knowing both good and evil, and then we realized how naked we are, how sinful we are, how stupid we were, and this filled us with so much shame that we tried to hide. But God’s Light reveals all, and His love covers us from the cold. God knows we are but dust, and at one point God even regretted making us, but He washed us.

By Grace, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace.

It’s true that we are human beings and we are flawed by nature, just look at the story of Adam and Eve. They were given a command from God. They disobeyed. That’s why the world is in a state of sin. We are raised in this world to be like worms. It’s all about me, myself, and I. It’s foolish to think we can stay like this for the rest of our lives. We have a big responsibility to give to the people we are meant to support, but we don’t.

How will my wife ever experience God’s love if I don’t represent it to her? It’s only by listening to God’s voice guiding us to lay down our lives for the ones we love that we can learn to be selfless in love. Think about a mother who works 2 or even 3 jobs to support her babies after her husband walks out on them; that’s what I call bleeding for the ones you love. That’s why Jesus Christ had to bleed for us; that we might know God’s heart for us.

Building a strong healthy family starts with the way you carry your own family. Nothing says “I love you” like sweating blood. We have to provide, fight, and exemplify the works of Jesus Christ. Saying these beautiful things is easy, but doing them is so much harder than most are willing to face. The selfish self-presevating nature of society and the way most of us are raised to believe we are snowflakes who deserve to be treated like royalty can blind us from God’s truth. We are the body of Christ. What did Jesus look like at that cross?

I told you I’m going to challenge you to reflect on your own ways. Consider this the first of many lessons. Consider those who have nothing to offer you. Would you feed them? Would you clothe them? Would you give them a roof? What if they hated you like they hated God? Would you forgive them? It’s not easy being a parent. Your own children might turn their backs on you and say those heart wrenching words, “I hate you and I never want to see you again.”

How will you respond when your own child says something like that to you? Will you keep it against them for the rest of their lives? Being treated like you mean nothing hurts. You raised them, gave them food, a place to call home, and then they do that to you. You would be right to feel hurt. This is what we have done, and Jesus is calling us to come home.

As it is written, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.”

We are all made by love, for love, to be loved. It’s a mutual desire we all share. This longing to feel loved and to have family is so important to understand if we truly want to live this life in God’s presence and thrive. God designed family this way to share His character and love with us in a variety of ways. Love is not just about feelings. Love is so much more about teaching, leading, helping, supporting, and laying down your own life so others can live instead.

This is how we get to know Jesus: Jesus Christ willingly laid down His life so we can live through Him, but many think He gave us a free ticket to heaven, and that’s simply not the case. Jesus Christ opened our eyes to the reality of what love truly is so we can FOLLOW HIM. We set an example for the rest of society. If we were ignorant of God like many are, we would be selfish in nature and focus only on what we can get, and not on what we can give. We never lacked love, we have love to give.

Just think about it. Your heart is filled with the goodness of God and you’ve been given the ability to love. Once you share seeds of love you will see the multiplication of those seeds in your life as you become a blessing in a broken world. Not every person you share your love with will be thankful or reciprocate it back to you. That’s why we all need family, and a place where we can be filled.

The LORD God said, “It’s not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper just for him.” – Genesis 2

As it is written, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, the Spirit of Truth.”

All of us do what we do for different reasons, but at the core of it we see family. The Bible says a good father leaves an inheritance for His children’s children. What do you want to leave behind for yours?

If you start out with nothing, and your desire is to have a thriving family, then I am sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you will need to sacrifice life and deny the desire for comfort, pleasure, and children for a little while. We all need to walk with God through a time (season) where we are to be refined. Just look at the story of Abraham who believed God, and God knew his greatest desire, and God provided.

All children are blessings straight from heaven, but they are also living humans and resource consumers. Unless you can provide for them, it will be foolish to reach for more. First focus on building a foundation for your family by building the character of a God fearing man. Building something great from nothing is hard and it takes time. Don’t make it harder on yourself, trust me…

Don’t get me wrong, it’s glorious to get married, amazing to have children, and royal to eat the best cuts of meat, but approach it with wisdom, with patience. Patience is one of the greatest virtues we lack in the youth of tomorrow. Don’t approached life with lust, you will just survive, it will never be enough. Choose to live with love in your heart, and it will overflow, you will thrive.

Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice, and that was to lay His life down so we can be part of the Original Design. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” – Genesis 12

God blessed Abraham with a great inheritance, and this blessing falls on every child that comes from His Seed, the Seed of Faith, and that includes you, me, and all who believe. The adopted Children of Faith. God knew Abraham’s greatest desire was to have children, and God gave him more than the stars.

This blessing is God’s inheritance to His own creation. It’s the promise He made to be our Father, and this declaration of His character comes with Personal Responsibility. God is the only One who can provide as the Shepherd of your soul. He will guide you out of the darkness into His glorious Light. He is God, and we are not. We cannot control or manipulate God.

The Holy Bible starts and ends with the Almighty God (YHVH), but it centers around the story and origin of mankind. “Yahweh created man in His own image; in the image of Jesus Christ He created them; male and female He created them. He blessed them and said, ‘be fruitful, fill the earth! Be multiplied!'” – Genesis 1

The Scriptures go on to tell of how God’s people have all forgotten God; and who they are. They have turned their backs on Jesus Christ to run after dead idols. These idols were made of stone, steel, wood, and the work of our own hands. We worship the creation, and not the Creator. This is the wide road that leads to our destruction, and many people find it. Life without the living God is hell on earth.

Jesus Christ came to remind us of who God is and who we are. By humbling Himself as a man He found favor in the eyes of those who were just like him, the loving children of God. However, when He likened Himself to God, He was hated by the religious leaders and called a blasphemer, even a demon-possessed man. So, they killed Him. We killed God. But then He rose like a phoenix for all to see.

His Name perpetuated throughout eternity.

As it is written, “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who Himself is God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known to the world.” – John 1:18

Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice by hanging on a tree to remove our sin. “He who is hanged is accursed of God.” Jesus Christ believed God and His Spirit (Words) were released throughout eternity for all to see. God says, “Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord.” – Romans 14

The Reconciliation of souls (Tetelestai). We live because Jesus died. What the religious leaders of the 21st century won’t tell you is the fact that the true baptism of the Holy Spirit has been watered down and the message of the Cross lost through nice church sermons about “How to be a good human”, and “How to be blessed”. No human is good, and this has been proven throughout scripture time and time again. That’s why we need Jesus Christ to be saved. We need His Holy Spirit, the Fire of God, to burn is clean.

As it is written, “Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God.” – Mark 10:18

I share this as I need you to understand where we come from and why all of us do foolish things that cause pain in our own lives and the lives of those we love. We make mistakes because we have been born into a fallen world where pleasure aims to rule the soul (will). The hurt we have experienced can harden us and turn us away from God.

But it’s in our brokenness that God can be God as He gives us a new heart. His desire is to give us true freedom, even if He must allow us fall from grace. He gives us a taste of death so we might come to know how good He is. If there was nothing to fix or heal, then there would be no need for a Saviour. That’s why Jesus Christ is such a big deal.

God goes by many Names, but one name given to Him by His people is Jehovah-Rapha, which means healer. God wants to be our healer. Mending the brokenness by putting His own beating heart (Holy Spirit) in us. His desire for us can be likened to a sacred marriage between two lovers with mutual trust and admiration. God’s desire is to be One with us. He was alone, and that’s why He made you.

Jesus (The Word of God manifested) shares many parables with us in the Bible, spiritual lessons for the spiritually discerned to discover. One of these included eating of His flesh, and drinking His blood to be One with Him. The goal? To be totally saturated by Him. He also likened Himself to the Tree of Life, and said we are to be grafted in. Jesus wants us to live in and through Him, so we might bear good fruit.

As it is written, “I am the Vine and you are My branches. Those who abides in Me will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing meaningful.” – John 15:15

You need to know that changing your ways will be tough, but the pain you are feeling right now cannot be compared to the glory that will be revealed to you as you make it through the season of refinement. We cannot do this alone, and that’s why we need family to support us as we learn and grow. You are a Son and Daughter of the Most High. It’s time to act like it and direct others to the Truth, Life, and Way.

John the Baptist said, “I baptize you with water for repentance, but after me will come One greater than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit of God, an all-consuming Fire. John says this not to scare us, but to liberate us. You see it is the Fire Essence of God that refines us as it burns away every impurity in us. The Spirit of God (Helper) is preparing us for eternity.

We are to be married to God and Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom, the head of the body. Are you ready for the wedding feast that awaits those who are prepared? Jesus spoke about 10 virgins who were waiting for the their Bridegroom with lamps of oil (to keep the fire burning), but 5 of them fell asleep and ran out of oil. They were left behind. This is another parable about the same thing, the kingdom of God.

life is a dressing room for eternity

As a parent it’s vital that you learn from the Master Himself by walking in step with the Spirit of God. Doing this will bring great blessing into your life and He leads you towards the promised land, and that includes prospering in this life without a lack mentality or a fear of death. God is God and we are not, once we accept this and honor Him as such, we can start to grow and mature. It’s our responsibility.

As it is written, “

“Behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant evildoers will be stubble; the day of the LORD is coming when I will set them ablaze,” says the LORD GOD. “Not a root or branch will be left.”

“But for you who fear My holy name, the Son of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings, and you will go out and leap like calves from the stall. You will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day I am preparing,”

“Remember the law of My servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him to give to all. I have chosen Him to lead my people back. Behold, I send My prophet before the coming of the great Day of the LORD. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” – Malachi 4

God’s command to restore the Original Design (family) comes with challenges as we are all raised in different realities and circumstances. The fortunate come from a healthy strong family and home where mom and dad are still married. But there are others who grow up in chaos, and it has damaged their soul. We all need healing, and we all need support as we learn and grow. You are forgiven, forgive them too.

If this is you, then please know you are welcome and celebrated here. You are part of the body of Christ. Make it your mission to seek God early, earnestly, and fervently. He is faithful, and He will show you just how real He is. We have to desire a positive change, and sincerely seek His face. He is God, and He cannot be lied to. We must just ask. As it is written, “Ask and it will be given to you,” – Matthew 7:7

Heavenly Father, thank You that I can come before You in prayer as Your child. Lord God please forgive me, and forgive those who came before me. I forgive all who hurt me, rejected me, and hated me. I release them in Jesus Name.

Lord Jesus please renounce any evil thing, visible or invisible, that’s causing chaos, confusion, and lack in my life. I declare that by the blood of the Lamb, and by His stripes, I have been healed. God released me from the bondage of sin and death. He gave me new eyes and new life by the finished work of Jesus Christ. I am sealed until the glorious day of the LORD.

I can rejoice, for my name is written in the book of life. I am chosen and called into unity with Jesus Christ. My soul has been secured in the Shepherds arms.

  1. Good afternoon Jan. Hope you are doing well.

I came across your site on Monday, when I was looking for some fitness guides and eating right.

I have been reading all your blogs bar 2 as well as the nutrition guide as well.

I am 46 and a bit overweight (101kg, 179cm). I am struggling to loose weight. Started to gym in November 2018 after my doctor told me to start exercising and all went well. Stop using sugar, and starch and came down from 103kg to 94kg in 12 months and maintained that weight. I did do weight training. But since lock-down it has been all downhill and for the last 2 weeks I have not been traing at all (back at 101kg). My devotional life also took a backseat, until I felt the urge to look for something better, and that is when I came across your site. Love the way you bring in the Lord into your presentations.

I need help. Not sure how you go about helping people and if you do (Up in the Vaal-Gauteng).

I need to do the Fat Furnace, as I need to get my life in order. I just have some questions.

If you could help it would be wonderful.

Have a great weekend and be blessed.

    Kind regard

    Bjorn Muller
