WHAT IS GOD’S WISDOM?
According to the book of Proverbs, wisdom is the principal thing. Wisdom will help you up when you are down and it will lead you to greener pastures as you are exalted to higher levels of authority. Having wisdom is like having physical strength, and that’s never a weakness. God says in the Bible that wisdom can only be found with Him. The Word of God states that He gives freely to all who ask and seek. Therefore we need to ask and seek. There must be a desire for wisdom.
In today’s blog we will delve into God’s Word to see what the scriptures reveal so we might learn to listen to Wisdom. There is a blessing of freedom to be found when we do things His way. So, it’s worth learning how to silence the noise as we fast from things of this world for a few days. This material world seeks to pull us in different directions as we all desire validation, protection, provision, and the love of a family. But this makes us vulnerable and weak without His Wisdom.
The purpose of this content is to edify, which means to build up. Bodybuilding for Christ is a space where you can grow on a multitude of levels, but only if you desire to seek His Wisdom. Listening starts with a heart of surrender. What do I mean by this? I mean you need to have a teachable Spirit. You need to desire the information enough to pay attention. Pray and ask God for Wisdom, then meditate on the things you read. That is how we receive new revelation from Yahweh.
What are you lending your ears out to? What false doctrines are you holding onto? Have you been deceived by the love of money or the worm-mentality that leads to greed? Many of us study our Bibles like gnostics seeking insight, but do we apply what we know is good? All of us wish to know, “What is the wise thing to do?” because we want to thrive and live “a good life”, but most of the time the wisdom of man is contradictory with the heavenly wisdom of God the Father.
It’s incomprehensible without faith. This is what Jesus Christ had to say,
“If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?” – John 3:12
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” – Matthew 6:33
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7
STEP 1: hOW TO LISTEN TO GOD’S WISDOM
As it is written, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8
I do believe God has spoken and every person old enough to read this knows the Name of Jesus Christ and what He stood for. God doesn’t need anyone to speak on His behalf. He has spoken, and it is done. Men are without excuse, and therefore I will give the floor to Him in this first step so you might understand who God the Father is. He is not a man that He should lie, and if you trust His Word and walk by it, you will see Him and hear Him and even feel Him with you.
“Does not wisdom call out? And understanding raise Her voice? At the highest point along the way where the paths meet, she takes a stand; beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, She cries aloud: To you, O people,
I call out; I raise my voice to the human race. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on Wisdom. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.
All the words of my mouth are just; not one of them is crooked or perverse. To the discerning all of them are right; they are life to those who find them. Choose my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge instead of choice gold, for Wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with Her.
I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; and I possess knowledge and discretion. To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and perverse speech. Sound counsel and judgment is Mine; I have insight and power.
By Me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by Me princes govern the land, and nobles rule the earth. I alone am wise.
I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me. With Me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.
My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, and along the path of justice, bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love Me while making their treasuries full.
The Lord brought Me forth as the first of His works, before His deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; before the mountains were settled in place; before he made the dust of the earth, I was given birth.
I was there when He set the heavens in place; when He marked out the horizon; when he established the clouds above; and when He gave the sea its boundary so the waters did not overstep His command; when He marked out the foundations of the earth, I was at His side.
I was filled with such delight day after day, rejoicing always in His presence, rejoicing in His whole world and delighting in mankind.
Now then, My children, listen to Me; blessed are those who keep My ways. Listen to My instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. Blessed are those who listen to Me, watching daily at My doors, waiting at My doorway. For those who find Me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find Me harm themselves; all who hate Me love death.”

sTEP 2: HOW dO I FIND GOD’S WISDOM
“Be still and know I am God. I will be exalted in the earth” – Psalm 46:10
The first step in mastering your mind is to silence it. Whether you are talking or not, if you are actively thinking, you won’t be able to listen. You cannot learn new things or have eureka moments if your mind is racing with anxious thoughts. We need to still the waters within so we can connect and listen to His gentle voice. That is why God says, “be still and know that I am God.” Humans are naturally driven by their desires or fears, and whether we wish to accept it or not, it’s true.
This is why the world is focused on everything that goes against God and His ways. It wants to take our attention away from Him and place it on things that satisfy our desires or make us afraid. Everything you watch, read, and listen to has an effect on you. Therefore it might be a good idea to disconnect from the world for a little while so you can learn to discern what is real, and what is right in front of you. Wisdom is freely available to all from His eternal Face of Grace.
As it is written, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5
The Holy Bible was written for us through inspiration from the Holy Spirit to bring hope and healing to God’s people. In the same manner, this platform has been established to glorify Jesus Christ and lead men and women back to the Father. The most important thing to keep in mind is that everything points back to the Origin, back to the Son of God. The Messiah who came to reveal YHVH to us through the greatest sacrifice ever made in the history of mankind. He died for all.
However, by His resurrection, Jesus demonstrated to us what would happen if we (all believers) would lay down our foolish ways of living to follow Him (God). Jesus Christ never asked us to worship Him, but simply to follow Him. He also stated that those who have seen Him have seen the Father who is Flesh, Soul, and Spirit. He is the triune God who made mankind in His own image with the freedom to think and do, create and destroy, love and hate, so He could fill the earth.
As it is written, “God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over everything.” – Genesis 1:28
sTEP 3: HOW TO BE MINDFUL OF GOD
As it is written, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” – Colossians 3
Being mindful of God enables us to seek Him, pray to Him, and meditate on Him in our hearts. Being mindful is to take note of something. Mindfulness is a way for us to become saturated with God’. When your mind is full of Christ, and your heart is filled with His Holy Spirit, then you won’t have room for anxious thoughts or a lack mentality. Seeking God will still require effort and a desire to know Jesus more than anything else, but through these words you will gain faith in God.
Knowing God goes much deeper than reading your Bible like a theology student who wants to be all-knowing. Knowing God involves walking like Abraham, Moses, and Jesus did. The Ancient Pathway (God’s Way) is a spiritual pilgrimage back to the Father, and the promised land, and it is still taking place every day. Learning to let go of all the idols in your life and the comfort “Egypt” provides will set you free from the rat race, but it will also challenge your soul to let go.
As it is written, “This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths: ‘Where is the good way?’ Then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Jeremiah 6:16
By allowing God’s Holy Spirit to refine you in a season of dryness you agree to have your character shaped and tested in a furnace. Going to war against the old identity you’ve held onto for so long is only possible if you’ve been baptized like the children of God at the red sea. Which symbolized the blood of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us that only those who have been born again, not of the will of man, but of the Holy Spirit will see the Kingdom of God and hear His Wisdom
This might sound like something that’s too good to be true, but deep down you know. The secular world tries to meditate, manipulate, do yoga to be mindful and that’s great, but mindfulness, breathwork, and a baby’s baptism won’t protect your soul when you’re in the middle of a spiritual war. By knowing God I’ve come to learn that being a monk is a selfish thing to desire. You reject family and what you are called for as you turn a blind eye to the suffering in the world.
As it is written, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:28
STEP 4: BE TRANSFORMED BY GOD’S WISDOM
As it is written, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2
Your gifts and abilities have been given to you by God to serve and edify the world. You don’t have to conform to the world, but you can transform the world by overpowering the fear that’s set in the hearts of men by your love and by your testimony. Being mindful of God is to consult with Him in prayer, trust Him, and see how He provides for your needs. He is faithful and alive, and once we put our hearts and minds on Him, we will start to see Him move in our daily lives.
It’s not that mindfulness or deep breathing or meditation is bad for you. Not at all, but it’s simply a means to an end. It’s a way to silence your busy mind and it works like heartfelt prayer. It enables us to become aware of God and His eternal Grace. Become mindful of this moment. Take one deep breath and then think about everything you are grateful for. How does that feel? You can be anything you want to be. So, what shall it be? One with God’s wisdom, or lost without?
As it is written, “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances.” – Ezekiel 36:27
God wants to be One with you. Just think about the condition of your heart. It’s beating, you are breathing, you are alive! When we become mindful of our own thoughts, our fears, and our doubtful hearts, then we can consciously take control of them by calling them out. If you catch yourself thinking or doing something that does not line up with the healthiest version of you, you can disagree with it, rebuke it, and remove it. The truth is offensive; going defensive is a telltale sign.
Transforming your way of thinking will take some hard work. You must recognize thoughts that don’t line up with God’s ways as His ways are above our ways. Psychology gurus will tell you to think about good uplifting truths of yourself and the people around you. By loving yourself and others in an unconditional way, you can remove thoughts that just don’t belong. Destructive thoughts that originate from a place of doubt, fear, shame, rejection, and even self-condemnation.
As it is written, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” – Philippians 4:8
STEP 5: WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES; FORGIVE
As it is written, ‘Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32
Becoming a zen monk is one of those ideas that seem good on paper, but without God’s Holy Spirit it will only last until the environment triggers you to respond emotionally from a place of fear. What we need is to fill our hearts with God. The truth is all of us have blind spots, and most of us still suffer from the traumatic events we have faced, and therefore we act out with rebellion, anger, and hate. God wants to remove the fear and liberate us by transforming us from within.
Many souls live with doubt in their hearts, just hiding behind white-washed walls acting like it’s all okay, but we all know it’s not. Raw is real; it’s what the world needs. We need to be vulnerable and open about what’s going on so others can stand in the gap and pray for us. Strongholds aren’t easily torn down and that is why teamwork makes the dream work. God desires to see people set free from worldly things that enslave them to their human desire for more.
As it is written, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of the LORD.” – Romans 3:23
Every time you choose to follow the fearful, self-preserving, prideful, self-seeking, beastly way of thinking, you choose to follow a path of destruction, and that is why God wants to renew your mind. You can choose to listen to Him and do things with Wisdom. You know what you are thinking every day, and so does He. To be the master of your thoughts will be a challenge if you still desire things. So in a way you need to be a peace-seeking warrior monk and a stoic to thrive.
But like I’ve said, letting go of the old identity is not going to be a once-off thing. It will require that you deal with the weeds that have been planted in your soul. These are emotions that make you think, act, and say things that might cause more pain for yourself and others. Therefore it’s a good idea to give your heart to God. Then see what He does to refine you for His glory. Jesus Christ gave the Holy Spirit to all who believe so that He might convict, redirect, and heal His Bride.
As it is written, “The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12
STEP 6: STAY HUMBLE AND TEACHABLE
Humility means accepting the fact that you do not know everything. I, Jan-Roux Kotze, therefore accept the fact that I might be wrong. But there is one thing I am sure of: Wisdom is always there to support us, but we need to have a desire for it, and we need to ask and seek to receive it. We are all born into this world as children and depending on your upbringing, you will either live with a lack mentality, or you will thrive. So we all have a responsibility to teach our children.
We have a responsibility to be good parents just like God has a responsibility to be a good parent, even if He needs to apply some tough love. Before you can become a master, you need to remove any false beliefs you’re holding onto. Beliefs that can cause emotions like anger, unforgiveness, and shame to defile you. Every thought we think can be likened to a seed, and we can water these seeds by accepting the thoughts. When you give life to the idea through actions, it will start to grow, and depending on the nature of that seed, you will either be a blessing or a curse in your personal life. That’s the nature of karma. It creates order.
Jesus said to them, “Blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” – Luke 11:28
Once you become mindful of Him, God the Father, and Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, and you calm the waters within, then you will have the freedom to breathe deep and just let go. Take time to cultivate this state of mind, and above all things, seek Wisdom from God with all your heart. The Holy Bible says that to depart from evil is wisdom, and the beginning of knowledge is to revere God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. This means we need to know the Word of God.
In the kingdom of God, the living, breathing, manifested Word of God can bring forth life, but it can also bring destruction if used with lust, wrath, hatred, and envy. We have been given the authority to speak things into existence and with this comes a greater responsibility, not only for us, but also for those who come after us. Children should be the focus of the future and setting a good example should be your duty as a mature human being. So ask for the wisdom to lead your family.
As it is written, “Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” – John 16:24
