Making a commitment to walk down a specified path can be challenging when times get tough, and they will. Life will come knocking on your door, and if you don’t answer, life will kick the door down. None of us are immune to the curve balls thrown by life, but we can all learn to swing hard.
It’s important to focus like an eagle if you want to hit a home run. Go big or go home. None of us are here to eat, sleep, and die. God has more creativity than we can even begin to imagine. As it is written, “Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than we can dare to ask for or think of.”
God placed a seed in faith in each Childs heart, and the world will try to choke those dreams, and turn their hopes and dreams into a 9 – 5. All of us desire freedom, and if your freedom looks like a 9 – 5, who am I to judge. Most of us who work on our dreams work 24/7, so it’s irrelevant.
What I’m trying to get a-cross is that we are all made in God’s image, and we have each received talents, abilities, dreams, and responsibilities. It’s important to lazer focus on those things, and some of us have been distracted by the world. The world can be dark and deceiving.
STEP 1: PAY ATTENTION
No one can focus in the dark. No matter how hard you try. If you cannot see where you are going, and if you are unable to see the mark (x), then it will be hard to hit it. That’s why God’s Word, and the Holy Spirit, leads us with wisdom, strength, patience, joy, longsuffering, faith, and hope.
Pay attention to God’s Word as the foundation on which you stand, and then build your personality on top of Christ, which means to say without the lust of the flesh, the evil eye, and the desire for wealth or power. Temporary highs are distractions, and we need to think long term.
What are the implications of my actions? Am I hurting myself? Am I hurting others? Am I hurting God? Paying attention to those things can be liberating, and if you truly desire to do good, and to leave good behind for others to enjoy, then you need to do things God’s Way.
As it is written, “God’s Ways are [perfect].” – Psalm 18:30
Let God write your story; and pay attention to His leadership. Become attentive to His Voice: You know the gentle wise One leading you to do what’s good and true. Obedience leads to blessings and breakthroughs as God’s Desire is to lead us to green pastures, but we are distracted.
STEP 2: LOOK AHEAD
Who hopes for what they see? As it is written, “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? – Matthew 13
The Israelites walked in circles for 40 years. They kept complaining to Moses. They hated Moses for taking them away from Egypt where they had food and shelter, and “peace”. God punished Israel by sending vipers to strike them in the wilderness. Don’t be like them.
All of us wake up each day because we have hope. Without hope we would feel depressed, and we would stay in bed. Anything can happen! That’s the beauty of life! “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12)
If you’re starting and ending your day on social media, trading FX, or worse, then you need to stop [add big stop sign here]. Living like this will rob you of life. Nothing is as fulfilling as living your life knowing The G, and being known by your Maker, your First Love, your Beloved, Your Savior.
Why? Because you see Him leading you. Gently, like a breeze of fresh air, you are swept off your feet, and even in times when the bullets are flying, you can hear Him asking, “Do you trust me?” or as I would like to put it, “But did you die?” God is an AWESOME Friend! He is trustworthy!
STEP 3: HAVE FAITH
If God gave you a promise, you can bet your ass He will see you through it. If the Holy Spirit truly resides within you; the Helper will do what we are unable to. What seems impossible to us, is possible with G. That’s why we ought to show some RESPECT when we enter those keys G.O.D.
It’s funny to hear Jesus tells His disciples, “Oh you of little faith.” None of us want to be associated with having little faith. It’s like having a small Johnson spiritually. No one wants to be in that category, and it’s hard to have faith if you feel hopeless. So, perhaps it’s time to die?
What I mean by that is that you die to yourself. Jesus said, “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.” Sometimes we are so depressed and hopeless because we have become the centre of our Universe. Is life about what we get?
Consider what you prioritise in life. What are the things that occupy your mind? Are these things of any eternal value? Do they benefit others? What would Jesus say about them? As it is written, “Give, and it will be given to you. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
TRUST THE TRAINER
If you’ve been haphazardly using your talents, and you feel the urge to go to the next level, then it’s time to make an oath before God. The Bible warns us not to do this, because if we are not careful, we could set ourselves up for a lot of suffering. So, it’s still your choice.
It’s your move. Think strategically.
